Playoff Records Updated
Before we begin, we wanted to share that the all-time playoff records have been updated. Couple of notes about the doc. We added the Southern Utah teams to the tallies. With the help of some history buffs, we were able to add a handful of games from the late 90s. I’d say this is 99% accurate for wins/losses and 98% for game scores. There are still a few that we are missing. This is also just for the boys. If anyone wants to tackle this on the girls side, let us know!
All-American
Note: The Southern Utah Lacrosse League (SULL) earned eligibility this year and had 1 spot given to them for a total of 11 spots for the state of Utah for All-American and Academic All-American.
Blake Franckowiak, Corner Canyon, Attack - The Senior led the Chargers to another state championship, its third in a row. 70 goals and 61 assists later, Franckowiak was a clear All-American choice.
Chase Beyer, Park City, Attack - If you watched the 5A Championship game, it was a clear representation of what we’ve seen Beyer do all season. The Senior finished with 69 goals and 37 assists.
Jack Baird, Corner Canyon, Defense - Of course, for every good offense, you need a great defense to be a champion and that’s what Baird anchored this year for the Chargers. The Senior finished with 52 takeaways and 66 ground balls - both team highs.
Ethan Hartsfield, Olympus, Midfield - Olympus has had some great midfielders throughout the years so it’s no surprise to see a Titan Middie on this list. The Senior finished with 72 points in 14 games.
Berkley Horoba, Alta, Attack - The only 2x All-American on this list, Horoba stamped his legacy at Alta with 153 points on 70 goals and 83 assists. Horoba accounted for 434 points in 62 games for the Hawks. The UHSAA record book hasn’t been updated for this season, but when it’s published, you’ll see Horoba’s name all over it.
Jack McHenry, Park City, FOS - The Senior finished the season winning 81% of faceoffs taken. In three years at the varsity level, McHenry took 831 faceoffs and won 72.6% of them.
Davis Searle, Fremont, Attack - Searle, the lone Junior on the list, led the state in points with 161 on 76 goals and 85 assists. Searle has 351 points in 55 career games.
Jacob Osborn, Corner Canyon, Midfield - Osborn finished the season with 55 goals and 34 assists. The Senior was a vital part of the Chargers offense en route to the state’s first-ever three-peat.
Gage Phippen, Olympus, Midfield - Phippen led the Titans in goals (65) and tallied 26 assists, leading the Green and Silver to the 5A Championship. Phippen had a break out Senior year, something we could see coming after stellar contributions in 2022.
Hunter Hernandez, Westlake, Attack - Hernandez led the state in goals (88) and had 26 assists in his Senior campaign. Hernandez had 292 points in 54 career games.
Travis Shepard, Dixie, Attack - Shepard, the first SULL All-American, finished with 80 points in 10 games as a Sophomore.
