4A State Semi-Finals
#1 Bear River vs #4 Waterford: The Lady Bears defeated the Ravens 12-7. Despite the loss, the Ravens fought hard throughout the game. It was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams giving their all until the final moments. Mia Chao led the Ravens in draws and goals, while Shelby Wilkinson and Makenzie Mickelsen were relentless attackers for the Lady Bears. The Bears advance to the 4A Championship on March 23 at Zions Bank Stadium, where they will face Payson at 4 PM. You can also watch the game live on KSL Sports.
#2 Payson vs #3 Timpanogos: The T-Wolves and Lions faced off in a fiercely contested game. The action was back and forth, with multiple players scoring, but the match was significantly affected by the number of yellow cards issued to both teams. One of the Lions' top players, Morgan Jacobson, was carded out but not before contributing several assists and scoring herself. The Lions advance to their first-ever championship game. Based on their performance on Tuesday, May 21st, Bear River might face their toughest competition yet. Catch the game live at Zions Bank Stadium on May 23rd at 4 PM, or watch it live on KSL Sports.
5A State Semi-Finals
#1 Olympus vs #5 Brighton: This was undoubtedly the best game of the Bengals' career. We've watched these two teams battle for many years, but we've never seen a fight like this from Brighton! Olympus rose to the challenge and secured a 12-11 victory, maintaining their ranking. The Titans advance to the 2024 State Championship against #2 Park City on May 23rd at 10 AM at Zions Bank Stadium. You can also watch the game live on KSL Sports.
#2 Park City vs #6 Maple Mountain: The Golden Eagles put up a steady fight but were taken down by the Miners, 18-5. 6A State Semi-Finals
#1 Riverton vs #4 Mountain Ridge: The Sentinels came out not just hungry but starving for this victory. Riverton had defeated them twice this season and even won the Region Championship over Mountain Ridge. The Sentinels, 0-2 against Riverton, were determined not to allow a third defeat. In a back-and-forth battle, the Sentinels emerged victorious with a 13-12 win. This pushes them into the State Championship to face Fremont at 1 PM at Zions Bank Stadium on May 23rd. You can also watch it live on KSL Sports.
#2 Fremont vs #3 Farmington: What a nail-biter! The game flew back and forth with no more than a two-goal lead. These teams kept their fans on edge as they went into triple overtime! With both goalies making amazing saves, Mckaylee Sargent sealed the deal, securing their spot in the State Championships. This was reminiscent of Mckaylee Sargent's game-winning goal in the Region Championships. Fremont will play Mountain Ridge at 1 PM at Zions Bank Stadium on May 23rd.
