4A Second Round
#1 Bear River vs #16 Logan: With an undisputed reign at the top of the 4A rankings, the Bears roared to an 18-3 triumph over the Grizzlies last night, propelling Bear River into the quarterfinals this Saturday, where they'll play Mountain Crest on their home turf. This game promises to be a nail-biting affair, as these formidable foes have already crossed paths not once, but twice this season, with the lady Bears emerging victorious in both encounters, first with a commanding 17-2 win, followed by an astounding 20-0 shutout.
#8 Mountain Crest vs #9 Provo: The Mountain Crest Mustangs pulled out a close win against the Provo Bulldogs (pictured below) tonight under home lights, with a final score of 6-5. The game went into double overtime where the lady Mustangs ultimately scored the winning goal. Mountain Crest will move on to quarterfinals on Saturday, set to face Bear River.
#5 Ridgeline vs #12 Green Canyon: The Ridgeline Riverhawks soared to victory in tonight’s playoff game, triumphing over the Green Canyon Wolves with a commanding 14-6 win on their home turf. Advancing in the 2024 playoffs, the Riverhawks will compete in the quarterfinals on May 18th, where they'll face the winner of last night’s game, Waterford versus Orem.
#2 Payson vs #15 Hillcrest: In last night’s home playoff game, the #2 ranked Payson Lions roared to a commanding 19-2 victory over the Huskies. This triumph has them sitting pretty for a quarterfinal game on Saturday, where they will face Judge Memorial for the first time this season at 1 PM at Payson. With fierce competition, this matchup promises to be a must-watch!
#7 Juan Diego Catholic vs #10 Judge Memorial Catholic: In yet another nail-biter leading into the quarterfinals, the #10 Bulldogs found a thrilling 13-11 victory against the seventh-ranked Soaring Eagles last night on their home turf. This hard-fought win propels Judge Memorial into the quarterfinals on Saturday, where they will face off against the #2 ranked Payson Lions. With these teams meeting for the first time this season, get ready for an electrifying game!
#3 Timpanogos vs #14 Mountain View: Timpanogos (pictured below) defeated Mountain View 14-3 in the second round of the playoffs last night at the home of the Timberwolves. They will advance to play #6 Sky View on May 18th. These teams have not previously faced each other this season, but have both defeated Uintah this season, Timpanogos with a 15-4 win and Sky View with a 21-0 victory.
#6 Sky View vs #11 Uintah: In a dazzling display of prowess, Sky View secures a spot in the quarterfinals with a stunning 21-0 shutout victory over the Uintah Utes on their home turf last night. Next, they brace for an adrenaline-fueled game against Timpanogos this Saturday, poised to continue their gripping playoff journey. With both teams boasting victories over Mountain View this season (Bobcats 15-3 beginning of March and Timberwolves 14-1 middle of April), anticipation surges for what promises to be an intense battle on the field!
5A Second Round
#4 West Jordan vs #13 Salem Hills: West Jordan asserted their dominance with an impressive 11-goal lead, ultimately concluding the game with a score of 17-6. They are now gearing up to confront #5 Brighton in the quarterfinals at West Jordan. The Jaguars enter Saturday's match with determination, seeking redemption after their defeat to Brighton on May 3rd, where they fell 18-7.
#5 Brighton vs #12 Bountiful: Brighton displayed their prowess by triumphing over the Red Hawks with a commanding 12-2 victory. With this momentum, they head into the quarterfinals with confidence, having previously secured a convincing 18-7 win against #4 West Jordan earlier in the season.
#8 Box Elder vs #9 Skyline: The Bees maintain their superiority over the Eagles with a 14-11 triumph, securing a three-goal lead and advancing to the next round. Box Elder is slated to compete against #1 Olympus on Saturday, May 18th. Interestingly, the only common opponent between Box Elder and Olympus is Skyline. Olympus showcased dominance with a resounding 22-6 victory over Skyline on April 24th.
#1 Olympus vs #16 Bonneville: The Titans showcase their dominance with a commanding 24-2 victory over Bonneville. Olympus advances to the next round and will host #8 Box Elder on May 18th. With their strong performance, Olympus enters the match against Box Elder as the favored team. Notably, Olympus secured a convincing 22-6 win over #9 Skyline on April 24th.
#2 Park City vs #15 Alta: The Miners asserted their dominance in the match against Alta (pictured below), securing a commanding 19-4 victory. Interestingly, this game mirrored their previous encounter on May 10th, where Park City also triumphed with a score of 19-4 over Alta. Park City is now slated to face #10 Highland. Notably, the Miners had a resounding 22-3 win over the Rams back on April 26th.
#7 Viewmont vs #10 Highland: The underdogs triumphed over the higher-ranked team as the Rams secured a dominant 12-8 victory against the Vikings. Highland is poised to face off against #2 Park City on May 18th. This marks round 2 for both the Miners and the Rams. In their previous encounter on April 24th, the Miners prevailed over the Rams with a commanding 22-3 win.
#3 Woods Cross vs #14 Wasatch: The Wildcats maintained their home winning streak with a narrow one-goal lead against Wasatch. Leading the game until the fourth quarter, the Wildcats faced a formidable challenge as Wasatch surged ahead with five goals, bringing the score to 10-11. Next, Woods Cross is set to embark on the Quarterfinals against #6 Maple Mountain. Maple Mountain previously defeated Wasatch 9-4 on April 19th. With both teams entering the matchup with momentum, anticipation rises for a heated battle aiming for a spot in the Semifinals.
#6 Maple Mountain vs #11 Cedar Valley: Maple Mountain maintains their winning streak over Cedar Valley (pictured below). Despite the Aviators' valiant efforts against the Golden Eagles, they once again came up short. The game concluded with Maple Mountain securing 11 goals to Cedar Valley's 10. Maple Mountain now prepares to face off against #3 Woods Cross on May 18th.
6A Second Round
#1 Riverton vs #16 Copper Hills: The Riverton Silverwolves, ranked at the top of 6A, unleashed a performance last night, trouncing the Grizzlies with an 18-4 victory. With their eyes fixed on the prize, Riverton now moves forward to the quarterfinals scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, where they eagerly anticipate playing against the winner emerging from the Davis and Herriman game Wednesday night.
#8 Herriman vs #9 Davis: With both teams close in ranking as they entered playoffs, it’s no surprise their game last night was close where the Davis Darts pulled a 12-10 win against Herriman during the second round of playoffs. Their victory puts them into Saturday’s quarterfinals, where Davis will play Riverton on the road. Both the Darts and the Silverwolves have already seen each other once this season at the beginning of May, where Riverton had a 13-8 win.
#4 Mountain Ridge vs #13 Westlake: In their pursuit of redemption, the Mountain Ridge Sentinels are clawing their way back to the 6A championship game after a narrow defeat where they took second in 2023. Last night, they had a decisive 15-3 victory over Westlake, setting the stage for a quarter final game against the #5 ranked Bingham team on home turf this Saturday, promising an electrifying rematch after their earlier split games this season, where Mountain Ridge first took a win 17-7 and Bingham came back to beat the Sentinels 13-12 end of April.
#5 Bingham vs #12 Weber: Bingham beats Weber 12-9 while playing in the second round of playoffs last night. The Miners will play #4 Mountain Ridge on May 18th. Both teams have played Lone Peak, Bingham beat them 13-11 where as Mountain Ridge beat them 12-5 March 19th.
#2 Fremont vs #15 Lehi: The Silverwolves defeated the Pioneers 17-3. Following this impressive victory, they advance to the quarterfinals to face #7 Pleasant Grove on May 16th. Both teams have previously triumphed over Lehi; Pleasant Grove secured a 15-9 win against them on April 16th.
#7 Pleasant Grove vs #10 Skyridge: Pleasant Grove defeated Skyridge 12-8 in the second round. They advance to play #2 Fremont on May 18th. Both teams have previously faced American Fork, with Fremont winning 26-1 and Pleasant Grove securing a 23-3 victory on April 18th.
#3 Farmington vs #14 Corner Canyon: Farmington (pictured below) secured a commanding 21-8 victory, reinforcing their 3rd place ranking. They will now face the impressive 2023 state champions, #6 Lone Peak, on May 18th. Both teams have played #14 Corner Canyon, with Farmington achieving a larger margin of victory.
#6 Lone Peak vs #11 Syracuse: The Knights secured a decisive 15-6 victory over Syracuse. As they aim to defend their 2023 state championship title, they will face #3 Farmington for the first time this season. Both teams have previously played #14 Corner Canyon, with Lone Peak achieving a commanding 19-8 win. The Knights will take on the formidable Phoenix on May 18th.
