Since their last meeting, Mountain Crest has maintained a record of 7 wins and 7 losses, with an overall season record of 8 wins, 7 losses, and 1 tie. Meanwhile, Provo has seen a slight dip in performance, securing 7 wins and 8 losses since their last encounter, with an overall season record of 9 wins, 8 losses, and 1 tie. As they face off again, both teams are undoubtedly hungry for a decisive win.
Uintah vs Sky View - In what marks the furthest distance they've had to travel for a single game, Sky View faces Uintah, which is a 4 and 1/2 hour drive away. Despite the distance, both teams share a common opponent in Mountain View. Sky View secured a dominant victory against Mountain View with a score of 15-3, while Uintah also emerged victorious, albeit with a slightly closer differential, winning 14-7. As they meet on the field, the journey and shared opponents add an intriguing dimension to this matchup.

Against Highland, Wasatch showcased dominance with a 13-9 victory, while East experienced a setback, falling to Highland with a score of 16-4. Bountiful emerged victorious with a narrow 9-7 win, whereas Spanish Fork faced a close defeat with a final score of 8-6 against Salem Hills. This shared opponent sheds light on the competitive dynamics between the two teams, hinting at what promises to be an engaging matchup.
Layton vs Copper Hills - These two have a common opponent in Fremont, though their encounters differ in context. Layton faced Fremont as a regional opponent, experiencing a challenging match with a 19-3 loss. Meanwhile, Copper Hills, competing against Fremont out of their region, encountered a similar difficulty, falling with a score of 16-1. Despite the variance in their league affiliations, both teams grappled with Fremont's formidable performance, setting the stage for an intriguing matchup between Layton and Copper Hills.
American Fork vs Lehi - These two share a deep familiarity, competing in the same region. As they face off once again, American Fork seeks redemption, hoping that the third time proves to be the charm. Throughout their encounters, American Fork has shown resilience, progressively narrowing the score differentials. In their initial meeting, Lehi secured a victory with a score of 20-5. However, in their subsequent matchup, American Fork displayed improvement, with Lehi prevailing 18-9. This year 2024 Coaches Poll was written by Megan Chambers and published by McKenzie Christiansen.
No. 1 Olympus - The lady Titans are dominating the field as they head into the playoffs holding onto the first position in the coaches' poll. Led by Head Coach Zana Spratling, they've notched an impressive 14-1 overall record for the 2024 regular season and remain undefeated in their region at 8-0, ranked #1 in region 6 as they enter the playoffs. Their performance is reflected in their remarkable UHSAA RPI (Rating Percentage Index, a transparent statistical system used to rank sports teams by considering their wins, losses, and the strength of their schedule) of 0.733087 compared to #2 in the coaches’ poll, Park City’s end of season RPI of 0.730230. Last week, they kicked things off with a resounding 24-5 victory over the West Jordan Jaguars at home, with senior Emma Davis (#15) stealing the spotlight with her solid defensive play and a memorable first goal of the season. And they didn't stop there, traveling to Highland for another impressive 24-10 win, showcasing their dominance on both ends of the field. The Titans are primed and ready for the playoffs, with their first game set for Thursday, May 16th, at 4pm after a bye in the first round where they will play the winner of the Bonneville and Clearfield game happening tomorrow May 14th.
No. 2 Park City - Reclaiming the second position in the weekly coaches’ poll, the Park City Miners head into the playoffs with a strong record of 13-2 for the 2024 season. No. 4 Woods Cross - The Woods Cross Wildcats have been a force to be reckoned with throughout the 2024 season, boasting an impressive 14-2 overall record. Despite a slight dip in the weekly coaches' poll, they hold a 13-1 region record, clinching the top spot and the title of region champions as they head into the playoffs. Their end-of-season RPI of 0.666275 showcases their strength, with only Park City and Olympus ahead of them in the 5A RPI rankings, despite Woods Cross losing their last two games of the regular season. The UHSAA RPI, or Rating Percentage Index, is a transparent statistical system used to rank sports teams by considering their wins, losses, and the strength of their schedule. Last week's games against Box Elder and Skyline presented some challenges for the Wildcats, losing to Box Elder (8-10) and non-region Skyline (10-11) under away lights. Friday’s game coverage against Skyline is on KSL Sports Rewind where game MVP, junior Rylee Linton (#16), can be seen scoring 5 out of their 10 goals against Skyline. No. 6 Brighton - The Bengals, led by Head Coach Melissa Nash, are wrapping up their regular season by climbing to the 6th position in the weekly coaches' poll and putting together a solid 11-4 overall 2024 record, including a commendable 6-2 region record. Despite their ranking as 3rd in their region heading into playoffs, their end-of-season UHSAA RPI of 0.631593 places them 5th in 5A, showcasing their strength and consistency. In their only game last week against Park City under away lights on Wednesday, the Bengals faced a tough opponent and ultimately fell short with a 17-4 loss. Coach Nash reflected on the game, acknowledging Park City's formidable skill while highlighting the lessons learned and the team's readiness for playoffs. Looking into the postseason this week, Brighton has a bye in the first round of playoffs for 5A champions. Their first game is set for Thursday, May 16th at 4 PM, where they will take on the winner of the Bountiful and Spanish Fork game happening tomorrow May 14th.
No. 7 Fremont - Entering the limelight of the top 10 in the coaches' poll this week, the Fremont Silverwolves end their regular season with a 14-2 season record and a commanding 9-1 region record. They head into playoffs as 2nd in 6A according to UHSAA RPI with their end of season RPI at 0.675178 and first in Region 1. Last week, Fremont had a thrilling victory against Syracuse at home on Tuesday (14-10) where MVP, sophomore Bailey Sargent (#23), delivered a stellar defensive performance with 5 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers and “some critical stops in this game against a powerful midi group on the Syracuse team”. Coach Jones explains how their “rivalry against Syracuse has always been more of a mental rivalry. For some reason [they] get in [their] heads more with this team than others, especially now that the entire coaching staff for Syracuse are Fremont Girls Lacrosse alum…but the girls were able to come together and play calmly, as a team, and it was then beautiful team play [of] trusting each other that got us out of our heads and allowed us to sweep Syracuse in region play this year.” Their triumph continued in a nail-biting win against Farmington (7-6) on Thursday on away turf, with full coverage on KSL Sports Rewind. Senior midfielder and captain, McKaylee Sargent (#33), scored the decisive last-second goal, sealing the dramatic victory and clinching the region championship in breathtaking fashion. Coach Jones summarizes the game saying how they “went into the second half of this game with a 5-3 lead and Farmington held us scoreless in the 3rd quarter going up by one. With 4 minutes left in the game and still being down by one, we had two girls out on yellows. With two girls down, our defense stepped up and played for their lives and held Farmington scoreless during that 2 girl up opportunity. With two minutes left, the tables quickly turned, and Farmington lost girls on yellow cards and we were able to capitalize with a game tying goal by sophomore Kate Jenkins…and then a last second game winning goal by team captain McKaylee Sargent. Farmington is such a strong team with so much talent and arguably the best goalie in the state.” With their eyes set on the upcoming 6A Championships, Fremont anticipates their first playoff game with confidence, taking a bye during the first round, playing the winner of the Lehi and American Fork game on Thursday May 16th at 4pm.
No. 8 Bingham - Despite moving down two spots in the latest coaches' poll, the Bingham Miners’ season's journey has been marked by resilience and teamwork, evident in their 10-6 overall record and their 6-4 region record, sending them into the playoffs as 4th in the competitive 6A Region 2. Their end-of-season UHSAA RPI of 0.613218 for 6A showcases their edge as they gear up for playoffs. During last week’s final season games, the Miners secured a hard-fought victory (13-11) with teamwork shining through, as 8 of their 13 goals came from assists playing against Lone Peak at home on Tuesday. Notably, it was also Senior Night, honoring players Averie Caldwell (#4), Makayla Harvey (#10), Sophie Curtis (#12), Brenna Miller (#21), Jayma Eggett (#25), and Morgan Edman (#89) who have made significant contributions to the team. Looking ahead, Bingham is gearing up for the 6A Championships with confidence, enjoying a bye in the first round of playoffs. Their first postseason game is scheduled for Thursday, May 16th, at 4 PM where they will face Weber, the 12th ranked team in 6A.
No. 9 Farmington - The Farmington Phoenix are soaring into the postseason with momentum, carrying an 11-5 overall record and impressive 8-2 region record moving them up a position in this week’s coaches’ poll sending them into the playoffs as 2nd in their region. Adding to their undefeated region record (10-0), Bear River won against Sky View (16-4) while on the road Wednesday, naming junior Shelby Wilkinson (#9) MVP of the game, securing 9 goals, 1 assist, 6 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers and 6 draw controls for her team. Bear River ended the last week of their regular season playing Logan at home on Friday, showcasing their team strength with a 20-0 win. The standout performance from senior Saydee Pehrson (#32) of 3 goals and an assist is why she was named game MVP on Friday. Coach Webb reflects on the week and expressed how “we faced two very tough teams and we were fortunate to come out on top. Our team's grit, resilience, and discipline were on full display. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, and we seized it. Proud of our teams’ effort!” With their eyes set on the 4A Championships, the Bears are ready to continue their winning streak and make their mark in the postseason, where they will play their first game Wednesday May 16th at 4pm, taking on the winner of the Logan versus Jordan game happening tomorrow May 14th.
