Good afternoon lax fans! Thank you for spending some time with the Utah Lax Report today. I hope that you’re all well and staying safe. I’m going to start sending these twice monthly instead of weekly until games come back (which I think they will). Let’s dive into what is going on around the world of lacrosse.

Utah

Lacrosse in Utah is still on hold. Nothing new there. My guess would be that if COVID-19 improves in the state, we could see high school and youth games this year. It would obviously have to be a shortened schedule with some creativity but I think at this point, it wouldn’t matter to any of us; we just want lacrosse! It wouldn’t surprise me to see temperatures taken before games and also not having any fans attend but I’m not a doctor or epidemiologist, so don’t quote me on it.

The Deseret News has been doing a 20 for 20 series where it highlights athletes from the 2020 class. The third article in the series featured Park City attackman Dylan Bauer.

The MCLA is hosting a virtual tournament where they theoretically play out match-ups and votes via Twitter. UVU is in a showdown with Texas at the moment.

The PLL, according to its latest ‘State of the League’, is still looking at all the data points before determining if the league 1) continues as normal, 2) starts later with a full season or 3) starts later with an abbreviated season.

Speaking of the PLL, last week they introduced the #AtHomeTrickshot as a way to connect the community. Check it out on Twitter.

Also, Episode 2 of GAME IQ with Paul Rabil is out.

Jamie Munro is hosting a Virtual Lacrosse Summit starting next week! Be sure to sign up to get some insight from some of the brightest lacrosse minds out there.

US Lacrosse Resources

Editors Note: This came from an email last week from US Lacrosse.

We've expanded the e-learning content available to all US Lacrosse members and are providing free webinars for officials throughout April. Our magazine team has been working hard to provide some sense of normalcy through storytelling, and has put together lists of lacrosse-related books, movies and documentaries, podcasts, and social media accounts to check out.

10 Tips to Keep Kids Active at Home

You’ll likely be spending more time on social media than usual over the next few weeks so be sure to check out Kohort, a great app for communicating. Also, we have a Facebook Page and a Twitter account.

If you have any other news, let me know: tim@timhaslam.com

Thanks again for reading, wash your hands, stay safe, stay home and please forward it to a friend.
