2026 Photography Opportunities
A great photo makes for a great article! We believe in supporting local lacrosse photography and have created two ways for photographers to get involved. First, we are going to host a photo gallery each Monday in the newsletter and a gallery on Instagram called ‘Utah Stick Clicks’. Second, we will host a Photo of the Year contest where we will award the best photo taken by an adult and the best photo taken by a high school student.
ULR Weekly Gallery ‘Utah Stick Clicks’ Submission Rules
Eligibility: The weekly gallery is open to any and all photographers based in Utah, covering Utah college or high school teams. No youth photos will be considered at this time.
Submission Guidelines: Each participant may submit up to three original photographs per week from contests that week. All entries must be submitted by 12:00pm each Sunday during the season and must provide Photographers Name, date of contest and teams competing. No watermarked photos will be accepted. Entries must be submitted in High Resolution (minimum 300 GPI) JPEG format and should not exceed 5 MB per file or 1,500 pixels in width.
Image Editing: Basic editing (cropping, brightness, contrast) is allowed, but excessive manipulation or the use of AI-generated images is prohibited.
Originality: Submissions must be the original work of the participant and must not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
Judging: The weekly gallery will be comprised of 10-15 photos so the judges will use their discretion to pick the best for the week.
Usage Rights: By entering, participants grant the contest organizers permission to use submitted photographs for promotional purposes with appropriate credit. Photos will be used on Instagram and the email newsletter. Permission will be requested for any other uses.

ULR Photo of the Year Submission Rules
Eligibility: The photo of the year contest is open to any and all photographers based in Utah, covering Utah college or high school teams. No youth photos will be considered at this time.
Submission Guidelines: Each participant may submit up to five original photographs. All entries must be submitted by 12:00pm on May 23, 2026. Each submission must provide Photographers Name, Age: Adult or Student, Date of Contest and Teams competing. No watermarked images will be accepted. Entries must be submitted in high resolution (minimum 300 GPI) JPEG format and should not exceed 5 MB per file.
Theme: “Spirit of the Game” is our theme for the 2026 season.
Image Editing: Basic editing (cropping, brightness, contrast) is allowed, but excessive manipulation or the use of AI-generated images is prohibited.
Originality: Submissions must be the original work of the participant and must not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
Judging: Entries will be judged based on creativity, technical quality, and relevance to the theme. The judges’ decision is final.
Prizes: We will have two winners. One will be for adults who enter the contest and other will be for high-school student photographers who enter the contest. Winners will be notified via email and announced publicly in the Utah Lax Report. Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of notification.

Conduct: All participants must conduct themselves respectfully throughout the contest. Any violation of rules may result in disqualification.
