This episode of the Utah Lax Report podcast features an interview with BYU Head Coach Matt Schneck. Schneck has been at the helm of the Cougars since 2009, earning a 170-51 record and two MCLA National Championships (2011, 2021). Before becoming the head coach, Schneck served as an assistant coach and played for the Cougars in the 1997 season where he was part of the very first MCLA National Championship team. We talk about all this and more!
I’m personally grateful to Coach Schneck for always supporting me and my various lacrosse projects. When I started Utah Lacrosse News, Coach Schneck was always supportive and encouraging and has been ever since. I’ve only had two coaches invite me to post-game festivities and Coach Schneck is one of them. (Not that I need to be invited, or should be invited for that matter). The team was heading to Pizza Pie Cafe in Provo and Coach Schneck asked if I could come along. I declined as I had to get back to my family and write a recap, but I’ll never forget the invite.
