Boys
May 5 - Riverton v. Herriman
RPI: Riverton #7, Herriman #12
Scoring: Riverton 9.8 GF/7.4 GA vs Herriman 12.9 GF/9.3 GA
Common opponents:
- vs Mountain Ridge: Riverton -11, Herriman -1
- vs Westlake: Riverton -1, Herriman +2
- vs Bingham: Riverton -3, Herriman -3
- vs Copper Hills: Riverton +9, Herriman +6
- vs Cedar Valley: Riverton +16, Herriman +11
Cody Elmen: This is tough. Riverton is big and physical, while Herriman is smaller but more skilled. Herriman needs to limit the turnovers to stop Riverton from getting fast breaks. I think the Mustangs can do that and win this one.
Tim Haslam: Herriman is scoring more goals per game, but giving up more too. I’m still going with the Mustangs though!
Ron Hill: I'm going with Riverton's physicality on this one in a tight game.
Libby Mitchell: I think Riverton will win. They have a better record and with Jayden Wilcken and Brandon Winters guarding the goal they don’t let many points through.
Dane Stewart: I like the Silverwovles in this one.
Austin Whiting: With better results in similar games, I like Herriman here. 10-8.
May 5 - Viewmont v. Woods Cross
RPI: Viewmont #21, Woods Cross #20
Scoring: Viewmont 5.9 GF/10.7 GA vs Woods Cross 7.4 GF/15.5 GA
Common opponents:
- vs Davis: Viewmont -12, Woods Cross -2
- vs Green Canyon: Viewmont -15, Woods Cross -12
- vs West Jordan: Viewmont +1, Woods Cross +8
- vs Alta: Viewmont -11, Woods Cross -9
- vs Skyline: Viewmont -10, Woods Cross -1
- vs Bountiful: Viewmont -17, Woods Cross -16
CE: I’ve seen Woods Cross in person this year, and their defense is solid in helping in the 1-on-1 situations that Viewmont likes to create. Their offense has some solid threats as well. WX wins this one.
TH: I think Viewmont is going to dig deep to pull out this win.
RH: As even as it can get, going with Woods Cross on this one.
LM: This could be anyone’s game. I am going to go with Viewmont though.
DS: Viewmont wins this one.
AW: I like WX in this one, 11-10.
May 6 - Corner Canyon v Park City
RPI: Corner Canyon #1 in 6A, Park City #1 in 5A
Scoring: Corner Canyon 16.0 GF/8.5 GA vs Park City 11.1 GF/4.6 GA
Common opponents:
- vs Lone Peak: Corner Canyon +15, Park City +17
- vs Alta: Corner Canyon +1, Park City +6
- vs Brighton: Corner Canyon -1, Park City +2
- vs Farmington: Corner Canyon +1, Park City +5
- vs Olympus: Corner Canyon +4, Park City +4
CE: I love that both of these teams schedule the most difficult teams from all classifications, so we can see games like this. Corner has looked super sharp, and they’re going to be tough to beat, but this Park City team may be one of the best we’ve ever seen. Miners win a tight one.
TH: Two of the best coaches in the state in a classic chess match. I think the Park City defense will be the difference. Miners win 8-5.
RH: The game of the week that is for sure, I’m going with Corner Canyon, they have found themselves.
LM: Park City. Both teams are unstoppable right now.
DS: Park City in a close one.
AW: Corner Canyon has been on a tear but Park City looks to be the best in state currently. I’ll take the Miners, 10-9.

May 5 - Maple Mountain v. Springville
RPI: Maple Mountain #19, Springville #18
Scoring: Maple Mountain 5.8 GF/13.1 GA vs Springville 6.4 GF/12.7 GA
Common opponents:
- vs Clearfield: Maple Mountain -3, Springville -16
- vs West Jordan: Maple Mountain -16, Springville -12
- vs Timpview: Maple Mountain +5, Springville +1
- vs Payson: Maple Mountain -8, Springville -17
- vs Spanish Fork: Maple Mountain +4, Springville +5
CE: While Springville has been better lately, I think Maple Mountain wins this one.
TH: I’m going with Maple Mountain in this one.
RH: Springville will challenge, but Maple Mountain will take this one.
LM: Springville could take it, but it would take a lot. Maple Mountain for the win.
DS: Maple Mountain wins this one.
AW: I think Maple Mountain has the slight advantage here. 8-6.
May 5 - Lone Peak v. Provo
RPI: Lone Peak #4 in 6A, Provo #2 in 4A
Scoring: Lone Peak 13.3 GF/10.0 GA vs Provo 16.3 GF/5.9 GA
Common opponents:
- vs Corner Canyon: Lone Peak +6 (2 gm avg), Provo +5
- vs Orem: Lone Peak +9, Provo +13 (2 gm avg)
- vs Hurricane: Lone Peak +14, Provo +1
CE: I like Provo in this one. The Bulldogs have two players with over 90 points this season: Anna Jaussi and Ashlyn Moser. I think those two will have a big game and lead Provo to the win.
TH: Provo is a great squad and their team chemistry will get them the win.
RH: Provo is my sleeper in girls lacrosse this year, I think they stay on track. Provo wins.
LM: Provo has had a stellar season, but Lone Peak is hungry and looking to improve their record. They win.
DS: I think Lone Peak gets the win.
AW: I’ll take Lone Peak here, 13-11.
May 6 - Green Canyon v. Sky View
RPI: Green Canyon #8, Sky View #7
Scoring: Green Canyon 7.8 GF/9.7 GA vs Sky View 5.8 GF/9.6 GA
Common opponents:
- vs Mountain Crest: Green Canyon +8.5, Sky View +5;
- vs Ridgeline: Green Canyon -1, Sky View +1.5
- vs Bear River: Green Canyon -18, Sky View -2;
- vs Logan: Green Canyon 0 (avg), Sky View -3
Head-to-head: Sky View won 8-5 on April 20
CE: This late into the season, depth usually prevails. I think Sky View has more depth as they have three players with double digit points while Green Canyon only has one. Bobcats sweep the series.
TH: Green Canyon will look to avenge the loss earlier this season. I’m going with the Wolves in this one.
RH: I think Green Canyon gets the split, Green Canyon in a tight one.
LM: These are not teams I am super familiar with, but I do like what I have seen from Green Canyon. I think they take the upset.
DS: Sky View will remain supreme.
AW: I think Sky View will repeat in this matchup, 9-7.
