A Wednesday newsletter? I know, I know… I try to keep your inbox at zero and I was going to add this post to a regular Monday newsletter, but my wife let me know that it’s too important to be in one of those and should stand on its own. It’s a little different than Monday's style of newsletters and I hope this doesn’t come across as name-dropping or that I’m popular in any way because I’m neither of those things. I just happen to meet a lot of people who have made an impression on me for the better which I’m very grateful for. I wanted to take some time to talk about the interactions I had on the sidelines last week, so just bear with me for a minute or two.
This was a nice read, Tim. Idk if you remember me, but we played together a little bit in highschool and I helped coach a little after graduating in 05’. What was the name of highland coach back then? Mark something. He alway wore a kilt in the playoffs. Hope alls well.
You do a great job carrying the load of lacrosse news in Utah Tim. I believe I can speak for many of us who are grateful for your consistently solid work bringing us lacrosse news and friendship in the lacrosse circles we live in.
Great read Tim. It’s always good to see you out and about on the lacrosse fields. Sometimes I think its just a given Im going to see you at every game I go to.
So many wonderful connections in the lacrosse community! Thanks for spreading the good word and all that you continue to do for the Utah lacrosse community. We all benefit from it!
Thank you for writing this. My name is Haven, and I play for the Skyridge girls’ team. I love hearing news about the lacrosse world and I’ve been absolutely obsessed with the sport starting back in 2020. My family is pretty involved on the girls’ side of things here in UT, and I hope someday I’ll be able to do the same thing you’re doing with going to all of these top-notch games and seeing familiar faces. The best is yet to come for Utah lacrosse! Thank you for all that you do, but especially for this piece - it’s helped me see how lucky I am to be a part of this community.
Really enjoyed this column, Tim. I'm a relative newcomer — my oldest son, Ethan, a junior defender at American Fork High — has played for 7+ years so I still feel like I have a ton to learn. Just as you're grateful for those you've met along the way, I'm grateful for what you do to highlight lacrosse in Utah. Hope to see you at a game this season. Go Cavemen!
Hi Tim, thanks for sending this out today. My name is Nathan Kenney. I played lacrosse at Brighton from 2013-16. I now coach with Troy Oldham at Green Canyon. I’ve been reading your letters for a long time now. I remember back when (I believe) the Utah Lacrosse News website posted game articles and scores. Lacrosse has been part of my life for more than a decade now. I did read the entire letter haha. I usually do. I love the lacrosse community and just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you’ve put in over the many years to help the sport grow. It’s been amazing for me to see how it’s grown in the state as I now coach at Green Canyon. Thanks for all your hard work!
